The Principles of Steiner Education guiding the Castlemaine Steiner School and Kindergarten
"The need for imagination, a sense of truth and a feeling of responsibility - these are the three forces which are the very nerve of education"
Rudolf Steiner
A Steiner Education is child centred and teacher directed. All levels of the education relate specifically to the developmental stages of the child, and are prepared and directed by the teacher in response to the child's educational needs.
  • Castlemaine Steiner School gives expression to the general principles of Rudolf Steiner education by making continual analysis of the  important elements of society and culture impacting on children’s lives.
  • We regularly evaluate the extent to which our educational programmes prepare children to participate constructively in, and contribute to, contemporary culture.
  • We embrace an approach to the education of children which addresses the current context of children’s lives.
